Default Newbie Question/Need Help

First: If I posted in the wrong forum, I apologize in advance. Second, i also used the search feature to no avail. So I am need of help with my 7250. I recently swtiched to a new laptop for work purposes. I loaded the new BB desktop software ( manager) and plugged my BB into the USB. The Manager detects my BB by the PIN and shows it connected. However, I receive a unknown error when trying to configure the PIM sync. Also, when I pull up the handheld manager and look for the current version of my handheld software it shows nothing. What have I done wrong? Is there anything I need to load or delete before trying to load the manager on the new laptop. My BB works fine just need to sync contacts and calander. Thanks in advance. been trying to figure it out for 2 weeks.

Are you on a BES?

What is the unknown error?

By looking for the current version of my handheld software, where are you looking?

Did you also load the handheld software onto your laptop?

Thanks guys. I am not on BES and the Error I get is "Unknown Error reported". I have looked on the handheld manager on the loaded laptop software for the current version( empty per handheld manager). I can see the version on my handheld under options though. Also, I have not loaded the handeld software. just the desktop. I seem to be missing that software. Thanks again.

You can download the handheld software from your provider. Not sure about your error, where did you get the Desktop Manager, maybe you need a new version of that too?

When you installed the DM, what options did you pick, BIS or BES?

Thanks nb_mitch. Will the new handheld software mess up my current settings. My BB works perfectly. email, calls, etc. I also got the desktop manager when it was shipped to me from verizon...
