Default internet access without BB data plan? (Nextel)

Please Login to Remove!

I was using a 7520 on Nextel, but can't afford the extra money for the BB plan, so I switched service back to a normal phone, and added the unlimited web access plan for $10, is there a way to be able to browse the web by using the sim card in the BB? It worked when I used to have a 7510 but not the 7520 for some reason...

Thanks!

Be careful - Nextel might automatically add the BB Unlimited plan if it is not already listed on it.

I don't understand, I did this before with the 7510, and didnt get a large bill because it wasn't activated on my account. I just figured it out too, I can use the wap browser to access the internet but not the BB browser.

Once Nextel sees the BB on the network they will automatically add the service to your account. I'm not sure if it's still this way or not, but when I first got my BB you couldn't even get a blackberry without a data plan with Nextel. You didn't have to activate the phone, but you HAD to have a data plan.

Its still thats way Jwaters he was just lucky with his 7510 that he didnt get caught. They will find you at some point. The other thing is if you dont call nextel and add the phone to your account it will also eventually stop working because it will look the ability to find towers because its not registered. That info came directly from a nextel signal engineer.

I've heard on howardforums that many people have been using a Boost SIM in their 75xx phones and reqwireless's e-mail client and I think webviewer as well since you get unlmited browsing with Boost. Just a thought, maybe want to look into that, check out their pre-paid area to see.
