Hello, I just purchased a slightly used Nextel/RIM 7520 from a forum member on Hayabusa.org (motorcycle forum). He sold the unit with no sim. I thought my Motorola i860 sim would work as it has in other phones. I was wrong. It functions fine except I cant transfer my phone book over and I have to make calls manually. Im not to familiar and need to know what I could do to get this thing off the ground. I tried contacting the orig. owner for the sim and am waiting for a response. I was looking on ebay for sims and found them for about 8-10 bucks and Nextel told me I can get one from a private retailer. Help please.

get a (insert Vendor Name here) 32K SIM, you're in business.

Get a sim for a blackberry from a local authorized service center. Then call Nextel and they can set up the rest. While the sim for the blackberry is similar to the 32k sim Nextel will be unable to activate the blackberry for you with a regular 32k sim in the phone.

You could also use my nextel and port it over as an excel file. You might have to fix a few things but you then could port it over to outlook and then sink with it and there you go your phone numbers are in the phone. Don't let anyone tell you that the 7520 will not work on an 860 sim. I have an 860 sim in mine and have for the last 7 months and it works flawlessly. Customer care tried to tell me that it was because I have an 860 sim that I wasn't getting something and it was only because my BES was down. The sim will work you just can't get your phone numbers from it.

I was wondering how you do this z2, I now have it working fine with my 860 sim but I really dont feel up to manualy transfering 300+ contacts. I tried to load the software on my pc and had some security troubles. I aborted the load. Thanks in advance. Gerard.
