There is lots of info here to read in the FAQ stickys. I don't know that there is a best solution for everyone. There are 2 basic styles, suretype verses full keyboard. I think it is a personal preference as to what you like. Secondly, what do you need it for, email, contacts, phone, etc. If you want a phone with BB then the 71xx with suretype might be a better choice, but if you want a email device with some phone, then a 72xx or 8700 may be for you. Last, do you have a provider, what do they offer? Cingular has that 30 day return policy and currently has refurbed 7290 and 71xx devices for $69, maybe a good choice for a first time out or to trail run and then return within the first 30 days.

I think one of the bigger issues is who has the better service in your area. I'd browse online with the major carriers and single something more out from there.

Talk to T-mo first that they have coverage in your are because they might be cheapy but still reliable as far as the service is available. Cingular will rob you but service is good as long as you stay from customer service people because most of the time they may not make any sense.
Nextel ?? they are also good but their BB's are only useful as long as you stay with them. ATT, Cingular, T-Mo 's BB will work on each others networks as long as they are unlocked.
