Use the top post in the Bold 9000 section of the forums and update your OS to the latest.

Back up your device
Do a clean reload of device software
( when you pick what software components you want to install, click on settings and check 3rd and 4th box.)
after reload is done try to turn on wi-fi
if its work
do advance restore from back up and restore

This is a mischaracterization of beta releases of the device OS. If you don't know what you are talking about, you would serve yourself and everyone else better if you would educate yourself before trying to "help" people.

You don't need the data plan to use voice (though some carriers are forcing data plans on smartphone customers).

Try these things.

What happens when the blackberry is plugged into a charger?

Remove the battery. Look at the contactcs on the battery and on the device. Are they more or less clean and shiny? If they are not, clean them with a pencil eraser.

Make sure the batter is tight in the compartment and the contacts are pressed against each other. If you have doubts, place a business card between the battery cover and the battery. If you don't have a business card, use something different.

Remove the SIM and microSD card (if you have one). Replace just the battery. If the blackberry starts and the device software runs ok, then replace just the SIM and test. Then try the microSD card again.

If none of this makes a difference, the try another battery.
