Default Retrieval of deleted text messages?

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to retrieve text messages from a BB that were deleted during the last 1-3 months.

Does anyone know if there is any way to retrieve the texts?

I don't have much hope, but figured it is worth a try.

Thanks.

BES or BIS ?

On a BIS, unless you made a backup to a computer, they are gone.

If they weren't backed up to a computer or connected to a work server (BES), then they are gone.

The only possible way to get them back would likely be through the carrier which would, in most cases, require a court order.

We've called ATT twice.

Each time, they told us ATT doesn't keep the records of texts and that a court order wouldn't help.

Thanks anyway.

That's the standard answer, to those who don't have a court order.

Our lawyer contacted ATT, and was told same.

He was told they don't keep the texts, and that a court order would be useless. They're not saved.

Are you aware of cases where a court order resulted in retrieval of deleted texts?

I've searched online.

Court orders are mentioned as an option, but I've never located a response that it has been successful.

Not trying to be argumentative, I hope you're correct.

It is my understanding that most carriers only keep the SMS records on their servers for a short amount of time 30-60 days. If the messages are too old, correct, even a court order won't be successful.

But to answer your question, yes, court orders have been successful, but ATT can only retrieve what they have.
