It's not clear to me what you want to or think there is to be deleted. You can uninstal the OS software for the old device if you ever downloaded and installed it. You can delete old backup .ipd files. Otherwise just connect the new device and go. If you sync to Outlook or something you will need to configure sync options again. But I don't know what else there would be that's worth worrying about. See what others say.

On the old Palm Treo phones, you had to establish a hotsync identity for the phone to associate it with the syncing software and desktop software. BlackBerrys don't do this. You just plug the new device in like aiharkness said and you're in business.

BlackBerry has not desktop PIM software like Palm Desktop, instead relying on the BlackBerry Desktop Software to act as a conduit between the BB and a PIM program like MS Outlook. The good part is that the data stored in Outlook can by synced onto any new BlackBerry without the need to fiddle with hotsync id's.

Hah. rambo you bring back memories. I now recall the sync partnership from the windows ce and pocket pc days. It's been so long now I'm forgetting.
