Default Canada eh?

Im not sure if this is specific to my BlackBerry (8700) or my provider (Cingular) but when I access Google.com (from the US) I wind up at Google Canada. Is there something on the phone I need to change or do I need to have Cingular change something?

RIM's infrastructure is here in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; with mirrored infrastructure in the UK (as per the disaster recovery plan).

Unfortunately Google is one of those services which uses technology to detect your geographical location (or at least the network location of your IP address). And as such, the service assumes that you're in Canada.

This has been posted elsewhere a couple times in the last couple days, but you need to go to http://www.google.com/ncr (no country redirect) to force it to the US google site. Otherwise it looks at your IP (which is in Waterloo) and uses that to direct you to the Google it thinks is in your country
