Looking to make my first jump from a Sony Ericsson phone that's a few year's old to a Blackberry 9700.

I'm currently on Orange's Dolphin £15 a month plan. I get 100 minutes and unlimited texts, and I can upgrade to the Blackberry by just paying a little extra for the handset.

I've been reading up, and apparently a Blackberry Data Plan, whatever that is, is an essential. I'm completely clueless, but the Orange Dolphin plan for this Blackberry doesn't seem to mention anything about a data plan.

So, from experience, does anyone know if it's included? Are Orange hiding something by not mentioning it, or have I completely missed the ball and it's not relevant?

To be honest, and I know this will be blasphemy on here, I'm honestly considering avoiding all the hassle and getting a HTC Desire.

If you call up Orange to upgrade to the Blackberry, tell them you want Blackberry Internet Service, and they will add it (if applicable, and from the website I dont see why it wouldn't be) and tell you how much it is (round about £5 extra per month I think).

The website doesn't specifically mention adding it to a plan, only if you are buying new.
So best thing is to call them.

And yes, you need Blackberry Internet Service to use email, internet and many applications.



Also, I now have a HD2, and looked at the Desire, but have fallen for a soon to be released Nokia E5. Im still around here ;)
