I'm trying to sync my Outlook account with my BB so that I can view my e-mails remotely, but I'm having some problems. When I set up the account, I got a notification that I need to change my settings to leave messages on the server, but I'm at a loss about how to do this. I only use my Outlook account through outlook.com (my school uses this as their webmail), never through the actual application, and none of the instructions on how to change the server settings seem to apply to outlook.com.

Can anyone help? I can't stand Outlook and I'm finding this whole ordeal very frustrating. Thanks much.

I assume that you are using BIS and that you have a BB data plan.

Email doesn't sync, but you can have it pushed to the device using BIS. Had you gone to our FAQ, you would find an article on how to set up your email: How to add / delete email addresses - BlackBerryFAQ

Since you are at a university, you will need to make sure the school allows and supports BBs for email. They will be the ones to provide the proper incoming server settings for you to use.

Thanks for the quick reply. I followed the instructions on the first FAQ you linked, that is when I received the notification saying I need to change the server settings. The second FAQ applies to the Outlook client rather than outlook.com, and for some reason when I try to use the Outlook client it can't get the server settings needed to start using my account. Judging from what you said though, it looks like I wouldn't be able to change them anyway, only the school can.

Bummer, it's beginning to look like I won't be able to check my school e-mails on-the-go at all.

Talk to the email admin at the school or check their website. They sometimes have the settings for POP and/or IMAP.

Despite the fact that that message reads "Action Required", note that it also starts with "IF YOU USE AN EMAIL CLIENT ...".

Since you are not using an email client, then it does not apply to your situation.
