Default 8900 or 9700 or ....?

Hi

I am on Vodafone in the Uk and have had BBs for many years with great experiences.

My current 8310 Curve is due for replacement as I want a better camera and more memory primarily.Wifi will be nice.

So I am looking at the 8900 or 9700 and wondering what the differences are apart from 3G on the 9700. EDGE/GPRS has worked fine on my 8310 and when I had an 8700v there were lots of 3G probs. However 3G has marched on since then.

I cannot believe that the trackball differences make any probs.

I have done the BB compare but only found a few differences like 9700 is a little thicker.

What to do or are there other alternative? iPhone?

TIA

Richard

Go 9700 and set the track pad speeds to 80%, this will kill the trackball models.
The only minor gripe is the keypad could have been the same size as the bold.
Apart from that this unit on our Next G (3G) Telstra - Australia kills the Iphone for speed in all applications. I know coz I had an Iphone for 8 months. I was a previous 9000 user and went to Iphone but I need a strong email product and the Berry's just do it better than anything.

Is the keyboard that different from the Curve? It is very difficult to see from BB website pictures but it looks as if the 9700 keyboard has no gap between keys which may be tricky compared with my 8310 which has gaps like the 8900.

The keyboards seems to be less user friendly the more modern the design. The old 7xxx series were the best!!!

Also the 9700 has a feature to load apps onto the microSD which is not clear as to whether this is also available on the 8900.

BB website is not good for this sort of stuff since all the models are so similar.

That said the keyboard is the big thing BB has hence my looking at the 8900.

Which is the right view??!!
