Question drop calls, messages arriving late

Please Login to Remove!

wondering if anyone can tell me if they've had problems or not with dropped called and receiving texts and emails and voicemails, hours if not days later. i have sprint as the carrier. my blackberry is the 8330 smartphone. all the info you have would be wonderful.

Although carriers may delay text messages for a while i doubt it would be days. Also dropped calls can happen on any carrier. Because you seem to be having radio receive issues, it may be your blackberry is not receiving a signal and if so the data will be delayed until it can send to the phone.
Check to see if you have a good signal when you get a chance and try to notice. Dropping calls also indicates a bad reception.
Worse case the phone is having issues. You might be able to reload the OS with an updated version and see if it clears the issue. Some older versions of OS did have some radio problems.

ok, so i've talked with sprint and they've checked the towers and supposedly my software is up-to-date and i've been having this problem since i've basically gotten the phone back in november. could it be the antenna that is broken in the phone? sprint has let me out of my contract if i want to leave, but i really don't want to because they have the best plans. i'm wondering if i upgrade to a different blackberry, if it would be worth or if i'd have the same problems and it's just a sprint issue. any advice cause i'm tired of thinking about it.

It should still be under warrantee so I would not reload any software. If you donxxx8217;t already have desktop manager on you PC , down load it and do a backup. Then bring the phone to Sprint ant tell them itxxx8217;s defective and you want it replaced. They may resist but tell them it drops call constantly and they should replace it. New phones are usually under warranty for a year. Like any electronic device, sometimes new breaks.

i do have that on my pc and have backed it up. problem is they won't actually replace the phone now since they took the 2yr contract off so i didn't have to pay all that money to leave, but i can of course upgrade the phone. i was looking at the blackberry curve 8530 smartphone...how does that compare to the blackberry tour or blackberry bold or the samsung intrepid?? and thanks for answering so quickly...it really helps!

They all are good. I would go to the store and play with each to se which you like.
If the phone cannot be replaced ( like for like ) then try the OS upgrade.
You can follow JL_cmdr for a complete replacement of the OS or just try an upgrade by downloading the latest version. If you already have the latest then do a replacement. Either way if it works your all set. if you really want a new one then go for it.

ok, re-doing the OS thing sounds to complicating for me...lol...and i'm used to that stuff...so i might just take the easy way out and get the new phone. the crappy part will be if i do it and then sign the new contract and have the same issues, and you know the issues won't start till after the 30 trial period...cause that is my luck!! i'm just worried that the service here isnt that good...but from what your saying, it's probably the phone itself and i need to move on.
