Has anyone figured out a way to keep SPAM off thier blackberry? I have my email forwarded at my server to my black berry address. I am running Spam Assasin on my server which directs SPAM to a SPAM box on the server. Unfortunatley it seems to run the SPAM filtering post forwarding, so I get all the SPAM on my BlackBerry but not when I check my POP3 mailbox with outlook.

Anyway to have the forwarding happen after the SPAM filter?

Do what a lot of us do, forward all your emails (e.g. work, home) to a gmail account and then reforward from there to the BB the spam filters at gmail are superior and they are intuitive and learn.

Have you noticed much of a delay by adding in that extra server hop, how reliable and quick is Gmail? I have huge delays with Hotmail and would never rely on it for my day to day email use.

Instant email sometimes if I am at the computer i get it on the BB before it shows up on the computer, and as far as reliability i reccommend it fully.

I would also recommend gmail. I get my email almost instantly, for example I was placing an online order at work for some radio equipment, hit submit and even before the confirmation page loaded up on the website my BB was buzzing with the email confirmation ... now that's quick, hehe!

I've been playing with stopping the SPAM myself. I've not tried g-mail forwarding but it does sound like a good idea, g-mail filters are awesome.
I've configured SPAM assassin to rewrite the subjects and then just have a filter to not forward e-mail that contains the **SPAM** I had spamassassin add.

This doesn't have the extra layer of gmail which could be a concern for a number of reasons.
