Default New PC AND New BB....How to transfer all data?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

So I am starting a new job, with a new PC and new Blackberry. What is the procedure or what files will I need to copy off my current PC to have things like contacts carried over onto the new PC? Then I could use desktop manager to update the new phone.

Problem is that I will never have either of the old and new devices at the same time, and I thus have to ensure that I copy all relevant data off my old BB and PC before leaving for the new job.

Thanks!

Wirelessly posted

Easiest thing would be do a backup, copy the .ipd to a removable drive, then restore the backup to the new blackberry.

If you need to move aftermarket software, too, do a search on backing up third-party apps.

If you are copying .pst files from Outlook to the new computer and all you car about is calendar and contacts, then once the new Outlook is setup to use the old .pst, sync the new lackberry. But I would also make a backup of the old blackberry and copy the .ipd file to a removable drive, just in case.
