Default Key Pad not working

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8330 Curve and I have had it for over a year now. All of a sudden my keypad does not work whatsoever. My phone is on but none of the buttons work. The only time the screen turns on is when I either plug it in to charge or pull the battery and restart and once its on, that's it. My ball moves but no buttons work. Anyone know what I can do?

Moisture damage to the keypad contacts. Time for a new phone.

Did it get wet or did you drop it? What happened just before it stopped?

If it didn't get wet or dropped, have you tried a battery pull to see if that fixes it?

I'm having the same problem. I havent gotten my BB wet, but i do tend to drop it every now and then. This problem began about a month ago at my work, i left my phone in my pocket for about an hour with the keypad locked, but when i pulled it out non of the buttons would work. I could ususally pull out the battery and the problem would resolve itself, but the other nite my BB started enterin the "tg" keys on its own, then over nite the buttons locked up on me and its been that way for a little over a day now. I'm currently trying the rice bowl technique in case i have water damage cause i do take my phone in the bathroom with me sometimes when i take a show, maybe the steam did somethin. Who knows, all I know is I don't wanna have to get another phone :/

Could also be dirt and/or lint under the ball and keypad. happens when you carry it in your pocket.

Was the device in a case or was it naked? If it wasn't in a case, was your pocket sweaty?

Steam IS moisture. Sweat is moisture. Both of these can definitely cause damage to the keypad contacts.
