Default blackberry not paging

Please Login to Remove!

I get emails, but the flashing light stays green. i have tried loud and vibrate. Sometimes it goes off and sometimes it does not. I just sent a test email and it worked. I got several others today that did not go off.

this is for a work, so I actually dont know exactly what version it is.

the pager is NOT turned off. the light flashes green even though I have an email.

The green light is the network indicator.
The red light is the e-mail indicator.

Go into Options / Screen-Keyboard and set the "LED Coverage Indicator" to off

the pager does not vibrate or go off. normally when it works correctly, the red light flashes and the green stops when i get an email.

I dont see how turning the green light off will make the pager go off when an email comes or make the red light come on. It does most of the time anyway, but sometimes it just doesnt.

I don't quite understand the vibrate or go off part of the question.

The red light flashes for a short period of time, and then turns off.

The green light is an indicator that you are on your network.

Are you charging the BlackBerry now?

What model do you have?

we have the pager set to vibrate or have a large beep when a new email comes in.

it has been experience that the red light goes off and keeps going off until I check the email most of the time.

Maybe someone else can help as I'm not sure what the problem is.

When we get an email, i should get notification from the blackberry.

If I have it set to vibrate, the blackberry should vibrate
if I have it set to loud, it should beep.
Then the red light should come on.

this does not always happen.

right?

What model Blackberry do you have and what version of the software is on it? Options / About will tell you.

Do you use a holster? Have you set in holster and out of holster alerts properly?

What is the holster? This is a rotating device. So I dont know what was set.

Blackberry 8820

There are several versions listed in about. I think this is what you want

v4.5.0.110 platform 2.7.0.90

The blackberry holsters have a magnet in them, and blackberrys have a proximity switch triggered by the magnet when placed in the holster. Profile settings have in and out of holster settings. What NJ is getting at is the possibility an email alert for example is set to sound when in the holster but mute when out of the holter ... just as an example.

Is this the explanation? Look at profile settings and check both in holster and out of holster settings.

It's in the Profile you're using. Sometimes vibrate will be set to "In Holster" so it won't vibrate if the BB is out of the holster.

Open the screen to edit a profile. Don't you see two sets of settings, one for "out of holster" and the other "in holster"?

where is edit profile? I looked in applications and in options.

I don't see any settings related to holster. When I click on the speaker, all I have is:

1. loud
2. vibrate
3. quiet
4. normal
5. phone only
6. off

Also, is there a timer on the red light that goes off when you get an email? can I set it to stay on until I check my mail?

It will flash for 15 minutes, and go off.
This cannot be changed.

Within each one of the options is two settings:

In Holster
Out of Holster

The red light (LED Flashing) goes off after a few minutes. I believe there are aftermarket applications that may help. Check out the Aftermarket Software section for guidance.

To edit, after you click on the profiles icon, scroll all the way down, and look for "advanced" or "edit" or something like that. And go from there.

Don't be afraid to experiment.
