hi there
if anyone could help i would be very grateful.

i was using my phone, for a variety of things, and it then turned itself off. On restarting my message/email/extra apps such as twitter and msn have disappeared.

in the top corner of my screen are the email and message symbols to say that i have messages waiting to be read, but i cannot access them because i dont seem to have the 'message' facility.

I would love to get twitter and messenger back, but the messages and emails are vital, especially over the weekend so any ideas/suggestions please?

(i have already twice several times to 'reset' by taking out the battery.)

thanks in advance

Indigo.

Its not giving an error message? No email or messages icon? What does it do if you hit the blackberry button where it would normally go from the main screen to the screen full of icons?

Emails wont be lost per se, can go to webmail for your email to see them (as long as you arent using a carrier.blackberry.com email address)

Messages may be gone if no backup as there is no place they are stored like email

hi the ringer
thank you for responding.

i am not so worried about the actual emails/messages being 'lost' per se, as the actual issue of not being able to actually get to the 'messages' area.

on my main screen, i had six icons at the botto, one was 'messages'. An envelope symbol with a little phone, i think, which i would press, to either read, or write and send a text etc.

that has gone completely.

as has the email option.

so at the moment, although on my main screen at the top its showing as having one message unread, i dont seem to be able to find on my phone a way of getting to it?

thanks again in adance,
Indigo.

p.s no error messages etc, just the things have totally disappeared.

i am the least technically minded person i know, and if it was not for it being a saturday night, i would take the phone into a shop and ask them to fix it, lol.

what do you mean by 'resend your service books'?

If you can, that is, log into the BIS account go to help, and click the send service books.

Alternatively, try options - advanced - host routing table - menu - register now.

any suggestions on how to now recover my email symbols? i had two, which gave me access to two different emails. i still have the sign to say i have 8 awaiting, just cant seem to find the actual thing, same goes with applications.

(thank you very much!)

I will guess you mean the icon and not the actual lens -

Go anywhere on your BB home screen, hit the menu button on the phone, and hit show all. Do you see it now?

press menu - menu - show all.

And also, resending service books should have brought back your email icons. As thats what happens when you setup the email addresses; service books are sent to your phone.

If there is no show all in the menu options, then no icons are hidden.

Please try another battery pull, leaving it out for a good 5 minutes.

hi

took the battery out for at least 15/20 minutes, and have not turned it back on and am back at square one. Messages have disappeared again. Still unable to see a 'show all' button.

Check your file free and post back the number.

Options > Status > File Free
It will show a number in Bytes. Post the number that it shows.

hi ,
would just like to say thank you for all your helps, ideas and suggestions.

my phone appeared to die pretty much most of the last few hours, refusing to turn on at all, and even though it is on now it wont do anything.

so, I have a new one arriving tomorrow.

but thanks again for your helps

Indigo
