Problems with pop
 

has anyone had problems with ISP using berry as POP? Msgs sent to berry indicating there is a problem possibly with ISP, etc?

Just curious, as our ISP works fine for any phone, any client. But POP with berry there are delays, etc in receiving mail. Switch account to IMAP then it works perfect and fast (via BIS, downloading mail via Berry server which downloads from our ISP).

Wondering if anyone had same case.

Who is the ISP?

How long is the delay? BB push email typically arrives every 15 minutes or less. Some ISPs such as gmail and Yahoo have deals in place with RIM for faster delivery.

Thanks. I was just wondering if someone had similar issues, where in POP, Bberry informs it cant connect to ISP and it could be an ISP problem, delays receiving mail, etc (BIS). While IMAP works perfect.

Compared to IMAP, POP will be delayed.

I would expect IMAP to work better then POP because of how the protocols work.

And given the option why not stick with IMAP instead of POP?
