Hi all-
After about a year, the email notification icon started displaying the incorrect number of unopened emails. I have searched all folders and nothing seems unopened and tried using 'mark prior opened'. Only removing the battery correctly resets it. But a day or two later, the problem returns. Any suggestions??

what version OS is on the BB? If it's old and upgrade may help.

I believe it's v4.6.0.151

I believe the latest OS is 4.5.0 312 so possibly the OS on your phone does not work properly.
Where did you get this OS? I would go to the 8800 section of the Forum and check out the information there.

Have you tried a battery pull?

You might also some unopened email in the saved folder or somewhere else. You can actually search your BB for unopened email.

It's happened to me as well

The weird part is a battery reset helps. To me the OS is getting scrambled. Still wonder how it has an OS above what is listed or available for this phone. Generally the forum list the best and latest.
