Question Blackberry9630 "App Error 523" Who can help?

Hi Peeps,

I really do need help with my Blackberry 9630 phone that just refuses to boot,but rather displays: "App Error 532,Reset".

Can anyone in the house be of any assistance in fixing this problem?

Before you reload the OS ...

If you are using OS version 4.6 or later, try booting in safe mode. That should allow you at least to run a backup. You may also be able to remove the app that is causing the problem -- or remove what you suspect is the problem -- and try again.

See the FAQ articles on using JL_CMDer, you might have to wipe and reload the OS completely.

Error 523 has always meant an OS reload for me. Last time was when I was using a Bold 9000 on AT&T and loaded a poorly written theme.

See blackberryfaq.com and the two articles on using JL_CMDER.

And look in the forum for your series blackberry, and find the "latest OS" stickied thread for your model.

Read. Follow instructions exactly.

The BBFAQ has a simple guide. Upgrading is the same as just reloading. How do I upgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ
The latest OS version is available from a link in a sticky thread at the top of the 9600 forum. No need to worry about what carrier released the version of the OS you install. As long as you remember the step to delete the vendor.XML file it's all good.

Warning: this will delete all info on your device. You will need to restore your data from a backup after reloading the OS.

Follow aiharkness' advice on wiping with JL_Commader first is important. Likewise, his suggestion about safe mode for a backup might just save the day.
