Default Black Berry with IT policy

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, i have a used blackberry that has a it policy on it, i cannot setup email and there is no browser icon. My service provider told me that the phone is still on the enterprise server. i saw a previous thread showing u how to remove IT policys from you phone using something starting with JL_Cmder's "resettofactory if i use this would i be able to setup email and browse the internet. Also is this the right option, because i can wait a couple days and i could get the phone off the enterprise server, but would the IT policy still be there?. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated. Also for info i have v5.0.0.484 (platform 4.2.0.214) is this the required software for the use of the JL_Cmder's "resettofactory

Where did you get the phone?

You could set up email and get the Browser, but you will need a BlackBerry data plan.

nope, i went back to the mobile provider and they checked the phone and told me it was probably still on the BES where my dad worked, then i did some research on the internet and i saw the phone had a "it policy" on it which i read could be the problem in that i cannot set up email and the browser icon missing

A simple security wipe will not remove the IT Policy.

Try these steps: Remove IT Policy - BlackBerryFAQ

You have to in order to remove the IT Policy. If you do a full backup first, you won't lose any data.

I am having the same issue. I just posted a new thread before searching (sorry, my bad) <---slaps hand.
I did do a wipe. The policy is still there. I did check off "wipe all 3rd party applications". This is actually the second device that this has happened to. The other user did worry too much about it. This user is not happy at all.
Oh and I even went as far as pulling the PIN off my BES too. I don't always get to do that.

Then you didn't follow the correct instructions. A wipe - including 3rd party or not - will not remove the IT Policy.

Try clicking the link again in my post #10 above, and follow the instructions.

I didn't follow your instructions. (my bad). I did just the security wipe. The factory default did work. Thank you very much.
