Default Switching from T-Mobile to Cingular

Please Login to Remove!

Our company has been having problems with T-Mobile. Many of our emails delivered to the BB are unreadable because there is a message that says
Error parsing body parts. My cingular 8700c has never had this problem or for that matter no older bb from cingular is having this problem. Can we just change the sim card to a cingular card and have the BBs working? My cingular rep told me that some TM BB only work on the TM network. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Your Cingular rep. is trying to seel you more CIngular BlackBerrys. You have to get every BlackBerry unlocked in order to use a Cingular SIM card. Are you using BES or BlackBerry Internet Service.

P.S. We have around 400 T-Mobile BBs and I've never seen the Error parsing body parts message.

Default error parsing body parts

What email server are you using. We have MS Exchange 2003 SP2 with bis. We want to move to BES so we have complete sync. How do you unlock a bb?

We are all various version of Exchange all with BES (worldwide). We don't use BIS for any corporate communications.

Unlocking a BB? If you are on T-Mobile and have been a customer in good standing for 3 months, they will unlock it. Of course if they know you are going to Cingular, that's may be a different story. Otherwise you must pay for it to be unlocked from one of the well know unlockers like GSMPhoneSource.com or BongoWireless.Com

Default Parsing error

I guess I will purchase BES and convert them a little at a time. This issue only seems to happen with TM and their new BIS portal. They have admitted it is an issue and will be fixed soon. We cannot wait any longer. Does the BES have to run on the same server as MS Exchange?

Read up on BES please. It should NOT run on the same server as Exchange (if you have to recycle the BES you don't want to stop Exchange). It should be physically close to Exchange.

Are you using OWA? If so, why???

Default Parsing error

Many reasons we are using OWA. Hope to phase it out soon or move to total VPN access only. I will do my homework on BES. I hope it runs as a service. Can I run it on my file server or do i need a dedicated PC/server?

BES is many services. We have always put it on a dedicated server.
I think OWA is part of the problem with the missing/error parsing problems.

shotput87, our company was having a similar problem to yours, and we solved it this way, which isn't as good as a bes, but it works.
create, @tmo.blackberry.net address for your BB users. Then on the Exchange server set up, an alternate recipeant, that way email is delievered in almost real time, it should fix the issue at the moment, at least until you can get a BES
