Question Forwarding only unread outlook msgs to BB

Please Login to Remove!

Hi. I'm trying to help out a coworker who just got a 7290 from some deal with T-mobile. He's trying to forward email from his work email to his BB, but he's trying to find a way to only see the unread messages on his BB. I know that if he files his read emails into folders in Outlook at work and leaves only unread email in the inbox, that it is possible to only see unread msgs on the BB. I tried setting up a rule in Outlook to help with this, but I quickly realized that you can't apply rules to emails as you read them.

Is there any software out there that can help this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This fuctionality requires syncronization with a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES). Does his workplace have one?

Unfortunately not. I found one program that seems to allow you to do this: Auto-mate. But I'm not sure how user-friendly it would be for him.

If T-Mobile supports webmail access (and your compnay too) through BIS, the following works great for me and my collegues:

Have your email delivered to an offline (i.e. local mailbox) on your hard-drive. When you are using your laptop and Outlook is open, the mail will by-pass your online Inbox and land directly in your offline Inbox. When your close Outlook, the mail will remain resident on the online Inbox until you re-open Outlook.
Mail in your online Inbox will be picked up by BIS through the webmail connection and get delivered to your BB; Mail in your offline Inbox will not get picked up and will not get delivered. This is good because you are now only working with email on the BB when you are away from your PC...

I am trying to do the exact same thing, and we do have a BES at our work place. Can you give some information on what to do to make this happen?

Thanks!
