New user to the forum, so I apologize in advance if I have posted this in the wrong section.

I am looking to buy a Blackberry phone. I was wondering if it is possible to buy a Blackberry off of a site such as Ebay, and then use a Koodo sim card in it. I have done this with an iPhone 2G and with Rogers, allowing me to use a relatively cheap $30 plan with no data.. Is there any way I can do this with a Blackberry, as I do not need data, just voice and SMS. If it is not possible with the Koodo network, is there any others that I could use? Which Blackberry models can be unlocked and any sim be used in them?

I am in Canada. I just do not want to pay for the more expensive plans that include data, as I know I will not use it.

Things you need to find out:

Does Koodo support the BB? If so, which model?

Do they allow non-Koodo phones on their network?

Are they GSM or CDMA?

Just for the record, I have bought three BlackBerry's from eBay, all with positive results.

I always bought from reputable sellers and on the one occasion when I had a problem with the PIN, I simply contacted the seller and the PIN was released and the BlackBerry worked flawlessly.

Although some have had good luck with Ebay, akosnitzky posted that link because some have not. Just some good advice.
