I'm about to get my first blackberry as I am due an upgrade and like them better than the Iphone.

My problem is should I get the 9700, or wait till the 9780...which I have no idea when will arrive..nor does anybody for sure I gather.

Will it be months and months and therefore better to dive straight in and get the 9700 which I'm sure I'll love anyway?

That is really on a question that you can answer. Have not heard that much about the 9780. Your guess is as good as anyone's as to its release.

The 9800 is being announced officially by RIM and AT&T in NYC next week.

The answer is there's always something new coming.

The 9700 is a great. If you are ready for a blackberry, you wouldn't go wrong with one.

But the bigger question is are you ready for a blackberry? They are different. Just be sure you know what you will be getting and that it is what you really want (and need).
