Smile Another New Blackberry owner

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a 7520 Blackberry with Nextel. I've been reading and reading ALL day and would like input on what I should do first? Thanks Mark!! Alot of useful information.
Does anyone know what the incoming mail and outgoing mail servers are for blackberry email? (???.nextel.blackberry.net) Thanks!
I am very interested in Instant Messaging. I currently use AIM on my laptop and that would be great to use on the go with my Blackberry. Is there free software to use for IM? or am I just being cheap and not wanting to purchase Verichat (which looks well worth it! But remember, I just bought my BB) Any suggestions??

**My current platform is v4.0.0.249 (1.4.0.40). If I need an update, how do I do so and where can I download it?**
Thanks again...

Alan =)

There are a few to choose from. I would suggest trying them all.

A simple search will find almost all answers you need. I would recomend reding A LOT. I was there just last month and now I feel much better after HOURS and HOURS reading.

Given that you know their PIN, the same way you send an email or SMS. It's an option from the Message Menu, "Compose PIN."
Remember, Search is Your Friend!
Hope this helps.

Sorry, I as trying out a new auto-text entry. Yours was more of a Users Guide question.

I'm not positive, but I think PIN to PIN messages use Data.

Hope this helps.

^^ PIN to PIN, like email, uses data.

All of the IM programs have free trials...give them all a shot and see what you prefer. I'm currently on a trial with Webmessenger (30 days).

I downloaded RAMBLE Over-the-Air. I'm having a hard time running RAMBLE. It asks me to enter my log on info, then when I do...it says
"Invalid Connection String Permission denied".
How do I fix this to run RAMBLE.
Thanks in advance...

Nextel. I'm new to the Blackberry Fam Bam and just getting to know my new toy. I've done ALOT of reading. And did searches. Do I need to use a host. All I want to do is install AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) on my BB. Thanks in advance for your help!

You can use Blackberry Messenger, too. It's better than emailing (IMHO).

Blackberry email isn't like POP mail. You don't have an SMTP and POP server like you do with POP mail.

Default Getting my 7520 tuesday

Can't wait to get my blackberry this tuesday going to have fun with that baby. I want to ask one thing to anyone with nextel. i was wondering about the two plans that they offer i know that there is a 5mb plan and the unlimited and i want to know is the 5mb dealing with the email only or is it when i do everything i'm limited to 5mb. I know i can survive with a 5mb mail box and link one of my other mail accounts to it. I just want to make sure that i can surft the web and chat without limitation.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8700C: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

That is ALL data (e-mail, web, chat ...). I would go with unlimited data just a few bucks more but saves you a load of overages.
