Default BlackBerry Experts help save my business...

Please Login to Remove!

I have BB 8800 due to somes issues I had to taken a backup on 14th when I try to restore from the file, it pulls everything except address book. I am a marketing guy so my business runs on the 550+ contacts that I have...in the restore.

The backup shows the address book file size as 36bytes (not sure why thats so low) but the restore shows null for # of entries (please see screenshots)

- Till now I have tried checking the filters in the address book ( personal and business)
- when I go to the contacts size on my BB it shows 0 entries

Please help me....

Do you sync the device with Outlook by any chance?

Did you have any of those contacts associated with Google or Yahoo?

That entry you are referring to is address book options. Isn't there another entry for address book, and do you have multiple address book data bases showing?

Above you indicate that you tried doing a selective restore? Did you, and did you select selective restore of "address book" and not "address book options"?

EDIT: I have Address Book All, Address Book-Last Used Hints, and Address Book Options.

If you have any additional address books, such as created by a Google app or whatever, you should see them, and you may not see Address Book All but instead something else. But what you are looking at to which you referred above is not the address book. It is the data base for the settings for the address book app.

Just curious, why don't you sync the address book with Outlook?

What version of Outlook are you using? In the distant reaches of my memory I thought that I had heard that there were some problems using older versions of Outlook with newer versions of Desktop Manager. Does anyone have more precise information?

For Outlook versions of something like 2000 or 2002 and earlier, DM versions newer than 4.2 SP2 or SP3 won't work. As I recall though, what the user would see is nothing. The newer DM versions don't even show/see the older Outlook.
