Default Blackberry in Korea

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I am interested in purchasing a Blackberry that will work both in South Korea and Canada.

I currently live in Korea but will be returning to Canada in a little over a year or so. It has been recommended to me that I buy an American or Canadian Blackberry and have it sent here (a new Blackberry Bold costs about US$800 here).

I am wondering:

1. Should I buy a Korean or American/Canadian Blackberry?

2. Can I rely on the fact that an American Blackberry will work here once unlocked?

3. Would it be better to buy a Korean Blackberry (usim capable) then unlock it once I return to Canada?

3. How much does unlocking cost in Canada/Korea?

What is the best way to do this?

Thanks,

Matt
