Hi I'm new to blackberry phones, and just picked a bold 9700 to replace my stolen Iphone. I need to get email, aim, msn, qq on the phone but have not been able to do so. Is there a solution for this. I am with China unicom here in shanghai.

any information or pointing me in the right direction will help. the phone is originally unlocked since it was from Hong Kong.

you need a blackberry data plan from your carrier
then go to mobile.blackberry.com from your mobile browser and ull find everything you need

I believe the problem is I don't think China Unicom provides service with blackberry. would i be able to reroute service through it through China Unicom to a service that provides bes, or can i sign up for blackberry service as a standalone and login?

there is no way around it u need the bb data plan from ur provider if theyre not providing it then u need to switch to another that does
