My company just instituted a forced lockout on our corporate blackberries. Since then I have found that the screen backlight timeout when the BB is locked is less than five seconds (perhaps 3 seconds). I'd prefer that the backlight timeout when locked be the same as I have it set in the screen/keyboard settings

Is there anyway to change the backlight timeout to be a different value (longer than 3 seconds) when the blackberry is locked?

Our BES manager and I have reviewed the settings on the BES but cannot find anywhere that the backlight timeout when a BB is locked can be set to be longer or to be the same as the selected value by the user.

Am I just stuck with this or is there a solution?

No, there is no way to change the backlight timeout when it's locked. I'm assuming that RIM's thinking is if the device is locked, it's not being used, and therefore the light isn't needed....
