Over the past 2 or so years we had quit a few problems in our office with various BB only being able to charge via a USB port.
With no solution from Rim aside from an exchange if in warranty.
And after wasted hours of installing and reinstalling the software.

I tried the most logical of solutions, searching for a charger that could mimic the output in the same ranges as a USB port.

For 2 current phones in the office having this problem the Apple charger worked.

Just plugged a USB cable directly into the charger and voila.

Hope this solution works for anybody else out there having the same problem

The 9800 comes with a similar solution.

Yes the 9800 (Torch)charger does accept a USB cable, I tried with no luck.
