Default Blackberry Curve Keeps switching off

Please Login to Remove!

At first i thought it was the battery but i think theres a problem with the phone. The batteries full but it keeps turning off, and it wont go back on unless i take the battery out or put the charger in.

Ive had it for 2 years now. Is it time i got a new one? or can my bb be saved?

Unless the batery is defective and thats possible even if the indicator shows full, You may have a corrupted OS. Try an OS upgrade and replacement of any Apps you may have added. Did this start after you added an app?. If so removal of that app may help. The 8310 is a good phone and should be ok unless a new one is calling you. Also if it got wet that may be the cause. Try a battery first.

Hi

Thanks for replying. I have been told by a person on the blackberry team at Orange to wipe the whole handset and see if it makes a difference. If it doesnt then its obviously a problem with the handset. I hope this works because i love the phone.

Do you know anything about the icons on the blackberrys? If i get a new one will i still be able to have the cute icons on the phone i have? I really dont like the boring icons that everyone seems to have now. I like the colourful ones.

Reloading the OS should have "cute" icons if you load the items you have now.
Do a search for JL_cmdr on this site for instructions on how to reload OS and other issues.
Don't forget to make a backup before doing anything. Also do not load any apps you added until you see if the phone works after loading. Keep in mind it could still be a defective battery.

The carriers Os is free and you can download desktop manager from RIM if you dont already have a copy. it's free also.

I would start by pulling the media card. I had a similiar problem and found it to be a hardware issue. If media card doesn't solve then I would do what was suggested above.

I Have A Similar Problem With My BlackBerry Curve 8520 - Its Not Even A Month Old And It Cuts Out Showing A Blank White Screen As Soon As The Battery Is Below 85%. And Even If I Pull The Battery Out And Put It Back It, It Does Not Load,
Only Loads If I Put A Charger In.
Could Someone Please Advise Me On What To Do? Thanks =[
