In my opinion, GMail.

In terms of features, it varies betwee google and yahoo.
Yahoo has 2 way sync, instant push of email [unsure about calendar and contacts wireless sycn]
Whereas gmail has near instant push of email, a slow 2 way sync (if it works at all sometimes) and the ability to sync contacts and i believe soon calendar [integrated, as opposed to the google sync app]

Though not familiar with yahoos extra services Id say gmail. I access several gmail accounts via my BB and it works flawlessly. Just as fast as my work exchange server.

I just got my 1st bb (9700). Tried using my hotmail account on it and it was horrid! Imported all my emails and set up message forwarding to my gmail account and now I'm much happier! Much quicker & easier to use (once I worked out how to use labels and archiving) and the gmail app is great compared to having to use hotmails slow web-based mobile interface to check old emails and subfolders and perform any tasks.

I have 2 hotmail/live accounts (and Outlook) and both hotmail accounts work great (i dont need to set up forwarding or any special settings)

- only get mail on my BB that actually stays in the hotmail inbox - any rules that filter mail from the hotmail inbox filters it from arriving on the BB too - but i beleive thats same with all online email

+ i do get hotmail instantaneously in my bb inbox + even before it arrives on my PC

+ Emails read/deleted on my BB are read/deleted on my hotmail

- Emails read/deleted on my hotmail are not read/deleted on my BB???

I use both gmail and yahoo. I like the gmail stand alone app as a supplement.

I gave my gmail account a try and personally found it lot slower than my hotmail accounts (still waiting for some test emails as I type)

+ Emails read on my BB are also marked read on my gmail as per hotmail (-but not been able to delete them with my BB as I can on my hotmail accounts)

- Emails read/deleted on my gmail are not read/deleted on my BB - as per my hotmail accounts

Supose you'll have to try which is best

Just brief awareness - I did previously download Gmail app which without warning deleted my Outlook (company) settings which was a pain

With regard to hotmail, many of the blackberry users of several years ago abandoned hotmail because for whatever reason it did not function properly with the device

Couple years back I dont think hotmail even worked properly with Microsofts own email clients (Outlook and O/Express)

I can only say it's working very slick for me at the mo

I have a non-premium Hotmail account and I must say it is very speedy and robust. In the last 2 years or so Microsoft has done a great job updating Hotmail and allowing BlackBerry users to access their accounts. There was a time when you had to have a premium account to get this access.

I still prefer GMail for the calendar integration that is possible. Google Contaces is still not as clean as it could be, giving me duplicate contacts far too easily. Once you clean up any initial contacts mess though, GMail is the way to go IMHO.

I also have a Yahoo account and I hate it. Spam spam spam, and the web client is absolute garbage. Yahoo just pushes too hard to add friends and other contacts and drag them into a bunch of other intrusive services. And the Yahoo Mail pop-ups are simply out of control. There's no way to turn off the annoying chat window that seems to pop up with some African fellow desperate to sell me something every single freakin' time I log in. And when I want to close that annoying pop-up window you have to confirm that yes, indeed, you really really want to close it (and you're quite sure you do) before it goes away. I have no idea how well Yahoo Mail syncs with BlackBerry because I hate it so much I won't even set my account up on my Bold. Tossers.
