Have you tried charging the battery?

This device doesn't use a regular USB cable. You need to purchase the cradle/USB cable. You should be able to do this at any Verizon/Sprint or electronics stores that sell cell phones. Same goes for batteries.

You can download the software online for free. It's called Desktop Manager. Refer to the FAQ at the top of this forum for the URL.

I should have made mymost post clearer:

I have been unable to make the unit work with the current battery, even after charging. I am going to pick up a new battery tommorow and proceed from there.

I also visited RIM's website, and I see that Blackberry Desktop Software V4.1 is now available - just to confirm do I want this newest version, or will my older blackberry require a specific desktop software revision?

Your 7750 will work with Desktop Manager v4.1.

To reset: Stick a paper clip in the hole on the back of the device on the bottom
what else should you buy: I found that a earpiece is really handy for talking on the phone -especially in the car
