Default Telus 9550 on Rogers problem

Hi guys, I recently unlocked a Telus 9550 and am using it on Rogers Wireless. I am not a tech guy,it took me long enough to make the email working and get rid of the "activation required" on home screen. I thought I was all set. However, the network speed has been agonizingly slow. It took forever to open a website and some apps just kept saying loading and nothing happened after. I don't see the double direction arrow at the corner at least for the first 10 to 20 second. I called Rogers, they told me it is unlocked phone and it is Telus software problem. My phone can not ran on 3G anymore, it is only stuck on EDGE. I had a 9000 and it was way faster on Rogers 3G network. I wonder if there is any setting I can adjust or even hack the phone to make it faster on Rogers network? Otherwise, I am thinking about selling it because I really can not take the speed and it is not worth the money I am paying for 3G data plan. Thanks.

Its not going to be 3G on Rogers.
The only GSM 3G frequency supported on the Storm2 is 2100 whereas Roger's 3G frequencies are 850 and 1900

I see, thanks, MidnightDraven. I guess I have to live with it. It's just that I don't think even EDGE is this slow? The phone receives emails alright. Every time I want to use other data, like internet and loading Google Map, it acts like frozen, not responding for a couple of seconds, no data transmitting signal at the corner , and then some data activities shown, but very slow. Every time I have to give up and close the apps because it is way too slow. It is a brand new phone,shouldn't have any software and OS damages. I wonder if there is any setting I need to change besides the unlocking? Thanks again.
