Just checked it out and there is no designation for the BB 7520. So I tried using the 7290 4.0 option and it appears to be working fine.

Just a little heads up before someone gets frustrated that there phone isn't on the list.

Any direct links for the 7100? It doesn't give me the option to select model and such. I've even switched back to "Blackberry" from "Microsoft IE" without luck :(

It looks like we'll get "Google Talk" before Yahoo Messenger debuts on more carriers....

Default Will Google Talk be using SMS?

If it does, many plans don't include SMS? Does anyone know what it will use?

It will be thru data just like Yahoo messenger is for the NXTL and Rogers.

Default So that raises more questions

Will only some carriers have it, and is that part of the BB unlimited plans?

I looked on the Google.com local web site and it is really carrier restricted. Like no T-Mobile or Nextel. Unless I misread it.

It works great on T-Mobile with my 7105t. It doesn't work on phones/devices without the unlimited data plan.

respectfully.........you misread it. or half read it. it does state the aforementioned; however, immediately following that sentence is one that states that the software will work on all color bb's regardless of carrier.

with that said, i have yet to be able to get it to download on my 7100i. i'm having the same problem as the chap earlier in this thread. i go the "getting started" page, and i'm not able to select any of the options. i too have gone through the various "emulation modes" in the bb's browser config settings, to no avail.

Try the MS Pocket emulation mode. Thats the one that worked for myself a few other people. I was running into the same problem as you are until I switched the emulation to MS Pocket.

I have successfully downloaded google local on my 7100i and use it quite frequently. The first few times I tried to DL it, the page failed to load. After 5-6 times (I think the server was busy as I did it the day it was released) it finally worked. I have not changed any of my browser settings.
