A friend of mine has a Blackberry and wants to sync the mail with Outlook. He is looking to sync all sent mails, deleted mails, etc. Basically, what is on Outlook should be a perfect copy of what is on his Blackberry. Is this possible?

Nope..
The BlackBerry does not have the capability to "sync" an entire Outlook folder (sent mails, deleted mails). You can sync the contacts, tasks, notes and calendar.

The BlackBerry deals with push e-mail; it will forward messages, but not sync up Outlook.

That seems to be a rather limiting detail. I am new to the Blackberry and am used to being able to sync my mail folders with Palm devices so I guess that I just need to learn new tricks.

It just seems to be a real pain is the a** not to have copies of emails that I sent from the Blackberry sync to the desktop. I hate having some emails on one machine and others on another. It also seems to be a waste of time to have to delete emails 2x, once on the BB and once on Outlook.

Am I missing some detail or is this just something that I have to adjust to?

The BlackBerry doesn't sync with Outlook, which was the original question. Like "syncing" Deleted Items.

If you have BES, your sent messages from the BB certainly appear in Outlook. If you delete an e-mail on the BB (or Outlook) it is reflected on the other side.

May I suggest that you read the Sticky Thread FAQs in the General BlackBerry Forum; a lot of work has gone into explaining how e-mail works on a BB and what you can and can't do.
