Default Importing Contacts using desktop software is not working

Hi -

During a full sync of an employee's new Bold 9700 and Desktop, things went horrible awry. We ended up with 3, 4, sometimes 5 of every calendar entry and contact on both devices.

Long story short, we have the .ipd file from a backup I did before we synced. We now need to import just the contacts from that file into a different BB device - an 8310. We have the desktop software running, and it recognizes the device and the contacts data from the .ipd file - HOWEVER, it claims to have completed the restore, but nothing is actually being imported to the device. Any ideas??

Pull a backup from a working BB and verify the IPD file your trying to load has the same fields in the same places. It sounds like your doing a restore with blank fields.
