i got 2set 8520 is brand new, but the problem is the key pad mismatch; when i press[q] it will show [a], and [w] will b [x]. but 1234567890*# is function normal

Sounds like you have the AZERTY keypad used mainly in France and maybe in other European countries as well. You would need to change the actual board that goes under the keyboard. Buying a new BB would probably be cheaper and easier.

nope. Changing the OS will not debrand. That is hardcoded into the device firmware and can't be changed.

As for the keypad, did you read all of my response?

This is becoming a more and more common scam. Somebody buys an AZERTY model BlackBerry, swaps out the keypad overlay for the QWERTY one, and then sells it as a QWERTY model. And it just ain't so. As has been stated already, once it's made at RIM as an AZERTY device it's permanent. It's not the software, it's the hard coding from the factory.

I dont know why they just dont leave it in. It may take some time to get used to it but at least it will work.
