Default BB Internet Service Account?

Please Login to Remove!

Just bought this phone second-hand. My previous tariff with o2 didn't have internet or the BlackBerry services, so I just got them added on about 15 mins ago. The o2 guy said that it would take a day for the BB services to take affect (the BB bolt-on with o2 - I presume thats the BBM and 3G) but told me to go to o2email.co.uk BlackBerry Internet Service[/url] and set up an account.

I enter my pin and IMEI and it says cannot create account:

To register:

1. In the Application list on your device, click Options, or click Settings Options.

2. Click Advanced Options > Host Routing Table.

3. Click the Menu key and click Register Now.

If the error persists, contact your wireless service provider.

Why wont this work? Is it because my BB services havent come through yet?

Thanks

Most likely that is the problem. Did you receive an email saying that the account was activated?

Did you try again? My thought when I read you post earlier today was that you account setup was still in progress, or perhaps not configured properly. By now if you are still having trouble it may be time to contact your service provider and double check your account setup.

OP was told that it would take a day. Probably hasn't been ong enough. But then I cannot understand why it would take that long.

I have the memory of 24 hours being the standard disclaimer, when for most people it ends up being almost instantaneous. One time for me during the holidays after Christmas one year it took the better part of a day to actually get the service books pushed to the BlackBerry. If it were me and it still wasn't working, I'd call, apologize for being impatient, and just ask customer service to doublecheck my account.

I'd probably do the same thing as well.
