Default can't change camera settings

my 8330 camera suddenly stopped working properly. now when I take a picture, it only shows up in the file with a small red "x" in top left of screen. I deleted pictures to free up memory, changed options to take smaller pictures but when I check properties of a picture I just took, still shows up as larger 2MB file so camera settings did not change. I tried battery pull - didn't work. help....anyone?

Unless you updated the OS I would look at available memory as the issue.
