Question Setting up an existing q.com email on a Blackberry 8530 curve

Please Login to Remove!

Hi to all,
I am a new member and my daughter gave me a blackberry curve for my birthday and after I was unable to set up my existing q.com email on the Blackberry, I returned to the US Cellular store. The store manager was also unable to set up the email even though he talked with both US Cellular and Qwest tech support. I would like to know if any member has encountered this exact same problem with a q.com email address and successfully resolved it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, elkhrnhiker

when you say unable to "set it up" please detail the steps you are following.
Email setup generally is not a problem. You must know the email access method, your password etc. Also log into the carrrier BIS site to set up additional options.

some info.

I cannot set up an email address
Try performing the following actions:
On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Setup Wizard icon. On the email setup screen, verify that you have typed all the email address information correctly. To view the password that you typed, select the Show Password check box.
Verify that the email address is associated with a supported email account (for example, a POP3 email account or an IMAP email account). For more information about supported email accounts, contact your wireless service provider.
If you are switching from another BlackBerry® device that is associated with one or more email addresses using the BlackBerry® Internet Service, verify that you have completed the process for switching devices automatically or manually using the email setup application. For more information about switching devices, see the Learn More booklet that came with your device.

For more information about setting up an email address, visit BlackBerry - Manuals and Guides and click BlackBerry Internet Service.

I just finished adding my wife's gmail email to the blackberry and it installed perfectly, but when I try to install my q.com email, i receive a message that says that the email address or password are invalid. This is the same message that the manager of the US Cellular office received when he tried to add my email to the blackberry. When he contacted Qwest, they were of no help.

Yes, you could have trouble setting up the Q.com email because that email is being offered by MSN.
so you will have to provide the POP3 Server: pop3.live.com Port: 995 Security type: SSL
But I am not sure where you do this because when I has Q b-band here at home I had the same issue when I was trying to config the outlook to pull the email from provider.
