Hey all!

Just new to the forum because off a blackberry problem I'm stuck with for a few days now and hoping sombody here knows the answer.

I'll explain:

A few days ago I was trying to install blackberry app world, during the installation my blackberry frooze when he was rebooting.
I unplugged the bb and turned him back on. ( no problems I thought )

But after this incident I can't seem to make a connection with my bb desktop!
I can still use the bb as mass storage so no problems with my cable or usb port on the bb it self.

Now I know some off you are going to say to search the forums before making a post but trust me I did

I tried all " fixes " from:
1. changing usb ports
2. disabeling power management
3. performing a clean uninstall / reinstall off the bb desktop (incl drivers )
4. soft resetting the bb
5. trying to plug in when the device is off ( read this somewhere )

6. This is where it gets fishy: another fix is manualy installing the drivers by going to hardware and trying to re-install the drivers.
Now the problem here is
A. That my bb isn't located under the universal serial bus controllers but under ' other devices '.
B. When I try to install the drivers manually I always get the notification that my drivers are found but can't be installed because it seems that the action is denied. ( I'm guessing this is the main problem but I don't have any idea what to do )

I tried installing the drivers from the site but I still get a " new device warning " even when the drivers are installed.

My BB is a Curve 8900 btw

Did you reboot the PC and do a battery pull on the BB?

yes I did ! left the battery out for 30 sec and still no response

But did you reboot the PC too?

do you mean removing the battery and then rebooting the pc at the same time?
Didn't try that yet will give it a shot !

Ok again the same problem when I'm trying to install the drivers, still says:
" drivers are found but acces denied when trying to install "

Are you running Windows Vista on the PC by any chance?

Try running Windows restore from just prior to the even occurring and see if that fixes it.

Already did this so I'm thinking the app world installation maybe corrupted my firmware ?
could this be possible ?

Double checked and didn't use the right system restore date!
Did it now and it works again ! xD

Who would have thought the answer would be so simple.

ok a quick side question now, the problem seems to be triggered by bb app world, cause when I install bb app world browser plug in again, the problem is back ( can't connect to pc )

This ofc can't be right so does anybody know a reason why this would happen ?
