I've been told I must use 32bit Office? Any suggestions much appreciated.

What version of Desktop Manager are you running? The very latest version is supposed to work with 64bit Office 2010.

The last I heard was that 64-bit support was coming in the first quarter of 2011. Lets hope they got it done quicker. Darn dumb idea not to include it from the start however.
