I have: Blackberry Storm 2

When i listen to music and get a ping on my BBM it always stops my music first then ping!

its really annoying. and i dont know what to do.

is there anything i can do or change any settings ?...

I don't know how you do a soft reset on the Storm, but do it if you know how and it should correct the problem

If you don't know how to do a soft reset or it doesn't work, then do a hard reset. With the power on, remove the battery for a least 30 seconds.

what version of OS is on your device, to check go to Options>about
make sure that it is the most updated OS, and then try again, hopefully this will help.

There's nothing you can do, or reset, that's the way it works. The audible notifications take precedent over the media player.

only workaround that i can thing of is turn of the BBm ping alert from BBm that might help

On my 9700/5.0.0.714 (and earlier versions) an audio will pause sometimes when there's a ring tone, and I have to press play to start it again. A soft reset fixes it. There's the ring tone, but the audio continues playing.

I don't know what causes the glitch, but a soft reset corrects it.

If the OP is just talking about the tone and it overriding the audio for a moment, then I agree that's just the way it is.

Not sure if it's a glitch whenever I've had an audible sounds/alert play in the middle of music it always stops the music. It's been that was since 4.2.2/8830 for me. Nowadays the music player is smart enough to resume.

Put the phone on vibration?
