Default Can a BBCurve be "hacked?"

Please Login to Remove!

Quick question...I recently sold my Blackberry Curve 8330 on Ebay. The guy who bought it wants to return it (he would have gotten it this same day). He does not have Verizon. While my auction clearly stated that it was a Verizon phone and sales were final, if I let him return, is there anything he could have done to this phone (steal a SIM card, etc...) rendering it unresellable (short of dropping it in a toilet or something). Thanks for any input!

You have a wide range of things he could have done but placing a bug is not one of them unless you have some reason to suspect youxxx8217;re the type of person who might be monitored or he is an expert in such matters. I would simply do a wipe and replace or upgrade the OS. Also check to se if it has had any water damage buy checking the indicator. Hold his money until you check it out or are comfortable with the return.

Agree, just wipe out including third party apps and then you have nothing but like it came out of box and nothing sort of a spyware left. You can install your apps as you need them later on.

Take the battery out and right by its battery contacts you will see a white paper like piece. That's is the indicator. If it was introduced to water it will all be colored. I believe red or pink. I can remember.

Be advised, however, that these sensors are super-sensative and can turn pink/red simply by being in a humid environment for a few hours. Florida during the dog days of summer, like August, can do it.
