I Have a Blackberry 9700

I backed up all my data to Blackberry Desktop Software, but when i returned to my phone all the pictures had disappeared

When looking to restore some of the backed up info (Pictures) it said No Media Card and turn on mass storage

Pictures are lost or are they?

Can anyone tell me if they are backed up and where they may be

What are purged messages?

If you had them stored on an sd card they should still be there, unless you formatted the card. Then they're gone, and the card contents are not backed up unless you specifically tell your computer to do so.

You might be able to explore your backup file with ABC Amber Converter.

Thank you Rambo 47 for your reply, I downloaded the ABC Amber Text Convertor but unfortunately I have found no pictures.
I took pictures with my camera and stored it just to phone memory.
When I connected to the blackberry Desktop Software it asked if I wanted to back up all phone data i said yes
I expect all the pictures have gone

Unfortunately, they're gone. RIM expects users to have a memory card to store media like music, pics, ringtones, etc. They don't consider that stuff "phone data" and it gets wiped. Wish I had better news.
