Email is the ongoing support issue for me.

Currently: my ISP forwards my mail to my desktop mail app and to Gmail and to my BBTour.

Problem: getting too much spam on my BB.

Solution: That's where you come in.

I recently learned how to turn off email temporarily and am thrilled about that so thank you to those that helped especially Motorcycle Mama.

Spam filters on some email providers do work. Unless you have unlimited data you might want to check your ISP.

Are you by any chance using the carrier supplied email account? That is totally unfiltered. For SPAM not to be sent to your BB, it needs to be filtered at the ISP level before it is sent to the device. Gmail has a really good filter, but as tsac said, other ISPs do not. Check with them.
