I've got a new Storm 2. I'm finding it hard to compose emails because it constantly tries to predict what I'm typing. I have quite a short attention span and the pop up dialog often distracts me enough for me to forget what letter comes next in the word I'm typing. Whatever the popup is replaces my text and I have to backspace to start the word over. For example: if I try to type the word test, when I get to te it automatically changes the te to yr and gives me a few other suggestions. How can I turn that off? I tried turning off predictive under input options but that didn't fix it.

Turn off AutoText for SMS text messages
1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
2. Click SMS.
3. Set the Disable AutoText field to Yes.
4. Press the Menu key.
5. Click Save.

I'm not using SMS, I'm sending email. Tried your suggestion assuming SMS settings might have some impact on email. When I compose an email I get the same results.

After much trial and error, it isn't predictive or include spell check variants or autotext. It was fixed by changing the input style from word correction to auto correction. Not sure what side effects that will have, but at least it isn't changing what I type. This was an odd problem that never happened on my Bold.
