Question gmail account on blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hi people,

I searched about it for some time and I'd like to hear your thoughts please. I just filled in for my BB data plan and I'm looking to ways to integrate my gmail account to my BB. In the office I use a lot the gmail platform. I have 4 email account and they are all connected to my gmail. The get labeled and archived and I can "reply as" from the gmail account and make it seem like I replied from my real address.

I would like to get all my email on my BB. But I see there are many ways and I can't really see what to do:

1) Configure all my accounts from my ISP's blackberry configure page

2) get the BlackBerry - Enhanced Gmail™ Plug-In from RIM

3) get the Gmail for mobile from google

Anyone used them? I would love to have my email coming into my BB's inbox (with the same notifications) and I be able to answer like I do in SMS using the right reply email. I like the simplicity of it.

But I'd like when reading an email to be characterized as "Read" also online.

What do the 2+3 options offer?

Anyone used the other google apps? Like contact sync etc?

Thanks a lot,

A newbie BB user (Petros)

My pearl 3g automatically configures to GMail when you set up the gmail account - calendar, contacts and email.

Why not set up all your gmail accounts on the bb - have them all showing in the main message box, that way you can send/reply from any of the addresses. If you set delete to handset only you can leave the archiving for the desktop sessions

What do you mean "automatically configures to GMail when you set up the gmail account"? When you set-up the gmail account from the BIS?

Nothing I can find states Gmail is automatic. It takes some configuration. What it does do is configure the service as you follow the various instructions. lancj1 may not realize he is doing the setup.

Hi..I have a remotely similar issue using Gmail. On both my former 8100 and my current 9700, I included 2 Gmail addresses. Long before Enhanced Plug In came around, I set it up so that:

1. Outgoing mail using my BB BIS address does an auto BCC and auto Forward to my Gmail address.
2. Outgoing and Incoming on my Gmail addresses does an auto BCC to my BB BIS address.

I did this so as to have a backup/archive/copies of all my BB BIS mail on the Gmail server. It usually works fine. But the last 2 days, whatever goes into/out of my Gmail addresses do not leave a copy on my BB BIS address.

1. Does anyone know why this happens?
2. I have Google mobile apps. Do I need to remove it?
3. I did all the trouble shooting such as:
3.1. Deleting/re-setting up my Gmail accounts.
3.2. Physical battery pull/reset.

One thing I haven't done is to synch anything as I don't want to give Gmail too much access to my BB.

Do I really have to re-load Gmail with the Enhanced Plug In and follow its setup instructions?

Can anyone help please?

Many thanks in advance.
